Oh I don't know - a few alliums coming up between other plants perhaps?

15 May, 2009

Ah - they are further over to the right of the bed! Not as tall as I'd hoped, though.

I call it 'close-planting', Pp! LOL.

Yes it helps to keep the weeds at bay.........

Absolutely! :-) I know that some gardeners like neat rows of plants with space between them, and their gardens are suited to that kind of planting, but I couldn't do that in a cottage garden. It just wouldn't look right, would it?

Me to Spritz...... my plants are all close together and i like it that way....your garden is lovely...............

Thank you, Holly!

oh yes i do agree, you always have room for one more plant that way don't you ;-) looks very neat and tidy though spritz, mine is starting to get there now, still have a few gaps that just will have to be filled, can not be seeing any bare soil at all....well that is my excuse anyway lol

Bare soil is a no-no in my garden - my husband is always teasing me about it!

17 May, 2009

does it really bug you Spritz...it does me, i can not sit at all while there is bare soil. i have to have every square mm completely covered.

I got teased again this evening after my 'gap filling' expedition! I was complaining that I haven't found that beautiful grass yet - and I left a gap for it! He says nobody would know...but I will!

I will HAVE to put something in it, Angie!

i know just what you mean, i was out there last night doing just the same thing, i had a few sweat peas left over - which i have cramed in along the washing line bed, and also thoughs lovely Salvia that you sent me and a few other bits i had up the greenhouse,,,Steve next door (nice neighbour) was watering his garden, laughing at me with comments such as.....'more plants!' and 'Sunk quite a few' lol etc. - he's not a gardener so just would'nt understand!
