Wish I had the space for them Dawn - they do look magnificent but fear wouldnt have much else if planted these near my pond !

Thanks, the best its been as we've had no frosts to backen it and no brown leaves for a change!
Ray: I guess you know but there is a rockery version, gets to about an inch high - maybe nice for your alpine bed, Gunnera Magellanica.

This one isnt that big really - the Mancata is massive but this variety is around 2 feet high and 3 feet wide

The two little leaves are beginning to open out to look like leaves Dawn , I was just in time to see a nasty little caterpillar thing creeping towards it the other day , I dispatched him pretty quickly .. LOL ..
