Last night perched on top of the roof accross the road to us.....

I am about one mile from the river Avon and they come up to raid peoples ponds!

Fantastic photo of this raider again, Milky. I always think water birds look odd when they perch on a roof!

We had one fly over the other evening but I was not quick enough with the camera. They look so big when flying!

yes they do, we have them not far away, herons reach in blackpool, so big but so gracefull

Thanks all..... We dont have a pond, but the 2 next houses do, and he does visit them both.....They are such a graceful bird, but it was funny watching him sitting up on Ted's roof, because it was so windy that all his feathers kept ruffling right up......

Fantastic picture Milky! we went for a walk down by the canal this morning and saw a Heron on the bank he was in the same position for ages, but as usual I didnt have my camera with me.
