Oh, Wow! I love this photo.....such pretty light and the roots of the trees creeping down.....should be in Alice in Wonderlands garden!

I remember reading about the garden constructions of the late 1800's... inspired by the Alps ...stoneworks were created to give the impression of the wild...and planted with wild flowers and included waterfalls, etc... a la Capability Brown. Whole topographies were invented and built. Would you know who was responsible for the gardens at Belsay?
