A flower of the herbaceous Clematis , I dont know the name so if anybody does please let me know !!

I thought it might be that one as well Sewingkilla , it grows about 2ft high has spread into quite a large patch , it was the july/sept bit that put me off , maybe someone else can put us right :o)

Wonderful Amy - its gorgeous. Look how sunny it was in May last year, I cant wait for it to be Summer again.
What conditions does it like Amy - sunny spot, free draining and plenty of feed I guess :-)

I'm pleased that you liked it Janey and Carole .... I promised you a piece last year Carole but then I had to wait for the right time to dig it up ... .. I hope it grows well for you both , this is special to me as my brother gave me a piece from his garden before he died so it's nice to think it's going to be growing in other places .. x

Ahh Dawn , thanks , it's strangely comforting to know his plant is going to many different places , he loved his garden and would have liked that , he was 60 and was excited about taking early retiement , sadly it was never to be .!

I'm not sure but i think i have this one, doesn't grow very tall? had it given by a friend mine is called tubulosa davidiana, scented hyacinth lavender blue on self supporting upright stems from July to September AH July so not this one then!!!! sorry only just got to that bit LOL
