Oh BB - LOL. That gave me a lovely giggle! Thanks.

Do you want them to spread Spritz? most would consider this a bonus if they don't. i have herd about some alpine varieties that do not need to be served an ASBO.... the one i have should be, but as it is a very desirable plant that sells like hot cakes, so i just let it have it's wicked way then dig up the extras lol - can send you the thugish one if you like ;-)

I have both, Angie - A. mollis which is meant to seed itself and this one. Neither of them seed themselves - maybe that's good? No hassle, I suppose! lol.
I had A. mollis in Kent and it did there - into the lawn, everywhere. Strange, isn't it?

Perhaps you deadhead it before the seed leaves, Spritz. I know exactly what Angie means - my gravel path goes green with seedlings if I don't deadhead early enough.

I've actually left them on deliberately, to try to get some seedlings! No luck...

i do dead head to control it, but i have been lucky so far, i do get extra's come up but not in the grass or anything like that, usually just around the plant really so easy to remove and pot up and sell on/swap with friends. Maybe there is just different types of A. mollis some more thugish than others?

I don't think so, Angie. It isn't a problem, anyway. It would just be nice to be able to pot a few up for the plant stall.
I have got a whole trayful of Salvia vercillicata 'Purple Rain' that I found around my plants, though! How about that?? Interested??

mmmmm oh yes please, if you don't mind would be lovely x

Hang on for a short while as they are still a bit small, but I will send you a couple. I don't think you'll want amy more than that - they really grow and spread out - I have to put supports round mine or they flop over the nearby plants!

thank you that would be lovely, i will go and check out the iron cross in a minute and send some onto you next few days :D

Not too sure, the RHS book says that there are two that get confused, so it may well be me - confused, I mean!!! LOL. I inherited this one. It's growing in gravel. I'd be happy to change its name if it turns out to be the 'other one'...
