Yes Diohio that's Arum italicum , mine has bloomed once in three years. It bloomed the 2nd season. Didn't bloom last year, but we were in a extreme drought. I believe it was craving alittle more moisture than I was able to give .
Sweet kate is great spiderwort, it's as tough as the regular green variety, blooms all season long, only needing a haircut in the middle of summer, and It has that beautiful chartuese coloring, The more sun you give it the more yellow the foliage becomes. I'm sure you had these hostas if you were a collector, they are Sum and Substance and Frances Williams, my favorite combo. There are two diff lamiums in the pic, one is called 'chequers' and the other is beacon silver.Another plant that does great year round here, only needing a haircut in late summer. The red flower is lychnis chalcedonica 'molten lava'. I was surprised at how well it did in the shade. I'm bad to push the boundries when putting plants where the tags say they should go, on occasion I get lucky. Thanks !

Actually that is a lunaria, (money plant), that has popped up in the flower bed. It's hard to see, I should have gotten alittle closer image. Thanks for the idea though, that would be the perfect place for one. I will plant one in there now..!

I want to plant some wild ginger in my back garden. My greenhouse tells me that they sell the rhizomes in the fall... which further cuts down my opportunity to enjoy them in this garden...it is wild, up home, grows in shady ditches and on roadsides, under pines mostly. likes acidity....next trip home I'll have to hunt something up.

Is that Arum italicum in the foreground, right side? If so, does yours bloom? I've had mine for at least 6 years and it hasn't bloomed. I don't know why. I'm thinking about moving it.
I think I may have that Spiderwort too ! And the hostas ! OH my. I was a Hostaholic for quite a few years.......something like 320 different kinds now. I love this photo ! Do you have lamium? And what is tht red flower on left side?
