Eriopherum species, this cottony flowerhead is a common site around ponds and marshes. It real lovely, I'll have to collect a better photo. :-)

Thanks RBF. I like the cotton grass alot myself. I like a big mass or singles in the water. This was dusk so a little flat in color.

in one of my photos there is a whole meadow foll with it. There is only a single place around. Wildernesses just go back because of the plantages and the fertilizers they use. That is the reason, Arnica is rare. And wool-grass, too, or orchids.
