First sweet peas

I am very, very pleased that they are in flower! It makes up for the late roses on the front of the house...well, a bit.

You have beaten me by a day, ours are just ready for picking.

I was in a should I/shouldn't I 'think'... but they open so fast, especially in this weather, that I took the risk. I didn't cut the almost ready ones. :-)

Avis, I deliberately read the seed packets for the most fragrant ones last autumn, as I just love the scent!

I cut a bunch this week as well , I can,t take any credit for them as the plants were given to me by a gentleman who grows special ones for shows, he had more plants than he needed ...... Lucky me .. :o)

Oh you are so lucky they are lovely. I planted some in a hangig basket wanting them to trail, doing well but no sign of flowers yet!

I'm sure they won't be long, Pp! Patience, patience! lol.

My sweet peas are only about ten inches high at the moment with no sign of any flowers, but can't wait for the first ones to pick and bring inside to smell the house out.
