Hi Buzzbee, I found this naturally at the bottom of a deep ravine with a seasonal stream. I transplanted a few to my yard (which is mostly woods) in a moist, shady spot with rich soil. It gets plenty of spring sun but is shaded all summer. It might get just a bit of morning sun in the summer. It's really a lovely plant.
