Beautiful display.

They are brilliant aren't they? All the many varieties. I think they give the best value of all shrubs in the garden.

I have Concha aswell Lily, it's such a gorgeous colour.
Paul, i agree.

I have a 'thing' for ceanothus. Another casualty I'm afraid, this one blew down soon after this but I now have another one. Concha is definitely the best variety.

Interesting to know that you think Concha is the best.
My ceanothus are grown from cuttings from a neighbour's garden now paved over, so I don't know which varieties they are...

I've got three now. Each time I order anything from this site online, I get a free one LOL. They are all Ceonothus Var Repens, tiny at the moment, but I shall have to watch them if they grow that high!!

This is gorgeous Lily2 - I have a ceanothus in a pot against one of our sheds, it's a Puget Blue (not sure of spelling!). I'm hoping this will be a good one too. I love ceanothus, but two that I had before this weren't very good ones, they were summer flowering ones and just didn't have the spectacular-ness of yours. Sadly I lost them to vine weevil larva anyway.

I've had several too Jan, all this variety, and even though I reduce them all over by 1/3 every year which keeps them bushy, they do get big. One of my faourite plants. I've also got 'Skylark' but the flowers are much more sparse.

The ones I lost were Skylark. I bought them because they suited a specific spot I wanted them for, and they were labelled as evergreen. This may have been true in that they didn't lose all their leaves in the winter, but they did shed leaves constantly and I was forever sweeping them up. Flowers weren't great either, I was really disappointed in this variety, and am hoping my puget blue will be better. I might also have a look for concha too, yours is beautiful.

Beautiful, Lily2. I can't resist blue flowers, and had a big one in my OLD garden, but it curled up and died after 9 or 10 years The "Expert" book said they are short-lived, is that true? Apart, that is apart from blowing down! Mine was Autumnal Blue. I love all your other pics, so will just put "Like" or whatever it is.

Yes Mad I think they are short lived. Concha is my favourite but I wish it was smaller. I used to have quite a big garden where there was plenty of room but in this small garden they have either blown over or outgrown their allotted space. Doesn't stop me from getting another though because I love them I try to contain them as long as I can, then start again! I tend to just put 'like' too, there are so many photos it's impossible to comment on them all.

ceanothus...love it. One more gorgeous plant that isn't hardy in the place I live. Why, why?!..
