Paddy On Guard (No my head isn't stuck!!)

Paddy (our little Border Terrier cross at his favourite look-out post> Looking through the trellis in our side garden(we live on a corner) at the passers by. He makes people jump sometimes if he barks and they didn't know he was there. Very often, we hear a commotion and go out to find people trying to rescue him because they think he's got his head struck in the trellis.

Thanks. Thought you'd like this one Tt. I had my camera as I was taking some pictures of the front garden and sneaked out of the front gate to take his pic in his usual place. He stands there for hours on end at the weekend, watching the world go by!

It appealed to my wicked sense of humour when you said he makes people jump when he barks as they go by, oblivious to his presence at first !!!

That's right Louise, Paddy certainly does.
It makes me laugh when he catches someone by surprise and funnily enough, it's quite often the same people. Groups of young girls quite often go past and are probably so busy talking about whatever young girls talk about(young boys probably) that they forget about Paddy being there and scream really loudly. It's quite often the youngsters who think his head is stuck. charlotte, our neighbour's daughter knocked on our door a couple of years ago very concerned that Paddy couldn't get out. But, of course, by the time she'd knocked, he'd left his spot and run to the door to see her. Life's never dull with Paddy around!
