My Clover is a house bunny Jacque. I have an outdoor hutch but Clover hasn't been out there yet.... Soon... Can you see the size of the back feet on this lovely?.... it's a hare for sure...I'm reasonably sure that this one ate my lily sprout...and got about two thirds of my scarlet runner beans as they emerged too! He thinks my garden is his delicatessen!
Me too Grammazoo! this is the largest one, there are two others, much smaller ...maybe this one's progeny?

Me too, Raquel! My neighbour put lattice at the base of the fence between our backyards to keep the rabbits out! I think that says it all, doesn't it?
I give them carrots in the winter and have left a corner of the backyard with tree prunings (branches, etc.) for them to shelter from the hawks...They have become quite tolerant of us and of Mandy...

awww I sometimes see them in the park, but I've never been able to get a picture...maybe your neighbor is related to Mr McGregor of Peter Rabbit fame??

Well I know their name is not MacGregor...and they don't grow veggies...lol...I've been able to procrastinate with weeding because the bunny likes some of the weeds... I think you've just helped me name the bunnies... Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail! Lindak has Peter! lol. and my house bunny is Clover. Ever read "Watership Down"?

Seen the film Lori and the rabbit looks more hare like with the facial shape and the long ears. I have just come back from visiting my sister in Suffolk and we saw lots of baby rabbits and they were lovely. Peter is fine although has had to go to the vet twice to have his teeth filed down. I am just off across the fields to get his breakfast. I pick him dandelions, clover, plantains, a sprig of hawthorn tips without the thorns, and grass. Glad to hear Clover has settled well.

Sounds like we have our bunnies on the same diet, Lindak. Clover loves red clover blossoms, but only the young fresh ones! He's become quite an epicure.lol. something else he come to enjoy is the wild carrot..we call it Queen Anne's Lace...he likes the leaves. But for the "very strange" category, Mandy (dog) loves to eat the dandelion roots... I pull the plant from my grassy/clovery patches..(wouldn't call it lawn..(I don't do lawns) because it's just clipped greenery.) I had quite a number of them in a bucket...she helped herself to a few! I've always thought that the plant and milky juice was extremely bitter, but, Mandy eats them with relish...Animals always know what they need.

I had 3 bunnies but sadly all have now departed this world and gone to bunny heaven, but what I have left is every year in the middle of my flower bed I have some strange beans grow along with some rye and wheat, all of which came from the bunny food my son threw on the dirt when he was cleaning out their hutch. I leave them to grow as a reminder of Spike, Chester and Buffy.

Just been to the Derby County show and they had a cavey tent and I haven't seen so many different kinds of guinea pigs before. They had a rabbit tent and saw many different sorts of pigeons and hens, some of them very ornate. They cattle and sheep were immaculate and their owners must have spent all night on getting them looking like that.

Yes, Lori, I read "Watership Down" and also saw the animated movie - well it was a tv series...It's one of my favorite books ever! =)

I have a picture of the larger rabbit and a baby one...must post. I loved the book...even use the terminology with my rabbits...sliflay...tharn...etc. I should make a point of visiting the fairs to see the breeders exhibits..sounds like a lot of fun, Lindak. You have plants in your garden which serve as reminders, Sue, I have plants that I will always connect to these rabbits because they are their favourite food...and the rabbits keep them on the endangered list!..lol. for instance,....my mini roses...(they like the yellow especially...) and the Violas...they loved the blossoms!
