Clematis florida 'Sieboldii' - 2009

Nice one I bought this one last year the roots are still there but not seen nothing come up at all.

Thank you Vincentdunne for the reasurence it s not me lol I have I have 16 altogether some are young ones I have not long bought but I have only ever lost one other than this one and that was the crystal fountain.

I planted this one last year as well but the roots died.

This is a stunner.

It is not the hardiest but I've had it for eight years now (in a sheltered spot)

I love the colouring of these and would like to get one in the future.
What makes it so tender though?
Given that my gardens are blown by south westerly winds should i think twice?
I'm not normally swayed but hearing how it fails so often i'm going to listen.

Although mine is a sheltered garden, the site for this one is on a pergola facing northwest so it gets the sun from midday onwards and can get it roots under adjacent paving. It came through last winter (-8C) here quite happily.
I would say if you can give it somewhere not too exposed with shelter at the root it is well worth trying

Lovely to see. Mine decided to die this year, but I haven't dug it up as i've had a clematis lie dormant for a year before, and then burst into life the following year so i'll give it a chance. It's such a beautiful clematis.

I have tried but this plant just doesnt like me.
