Hi Janey, yes it's a veronica although afraid I can't tell you which one! the dark purple spikes are veronica too - i'll upload a close up because they look gorgeous....

I love this. The variations in height, colour and structure are fantastic.

I like the plant combinations, they seem very well behaved, we`ve had some really heavy showers in the midlands and a lot of my planting has taken a battering.
