What a lovely photo, perfect against the dark background. Calendula are so cheerful, I love them but so do blackfly!

Thanks. Yes Lily, the Calendula are absolutely smothered with Blackfly. So are quite a few other plants so I've done a bit of 'squashing' today!

I had to spray mine last night there were loads on it...

Yes, horrible things Hollyeves. I stopped growing Dahlias years ago because of blackfly but now I'm growing them again but it's not just them, the blackfly seem to go on most plants now!

Are they very LARGE blackfly ?
Like really HUGE black beetles ? Lol.

Essex is a big county and so are our blackfly.
