Perfect shot, Ray/Jane - So lovely arent they. I saw a group of baby long tailed tits last week - so, so tiny with exaggerated long tails.

Thanks Clarice and Milky. Those magpies can be so and so s....
Oh Dawn, what a sight that must have been !

The other birds soon scatter when magpies appear at the bird table dont they, damn things.
Yes BB, they were so cute.

Dont get magpies Dawn, but the jackdaws get short shrift from both the rooks and the collared doves !

I can send some up if you like, lol.

I get magpies here only a couple but when there around the great big tree at the bottom of my garden, the noise is very intense from all the other birds, there are always lots of birds nesting in it.

No thanks Dawn ! Lol !
Clarice...the other birds seem to know that they will take the eggs and young,so the best way to prevent that is make a racket !

I thought that was why they did it, when ever i see them in my garden i'm out making them go, i think if they wont a drink of water they can go somewhere else, then i feel guilty because its all part of nature.

Yes Clarice...we tend to let them sort themselves out,and dont interfere but a few days ago had to chase off the sparrowhawk which was after the baby mistle thrush. The parent bravely chased it off too so no joy !!!

Dont feel quite as guilty, when i know somebody else is chasing the bullies away, i know i feel i should'nt do it, but then i also think alot of those little birds in that tree, i've been feeding, so the magpies can go and get some somewhere else, and leave my birds alone.

Such a sweet little fellow! is it because they are so small and vunerable we take on protective parent role? what about the young Magpies, Crows and Jackdaws? like Clarice says its all part of nature.Go away you nasty CrOW|
