Gorgeous Spritz - I trust this is a tree.

No - a shrub, and it only grows to about 2'6" high!

How lovely, I presume the berries arrive after the flowers.

Yes, I think so - but I was given this one as a small memento of my Mum, so it was planted in September last year as a baby.

I liked it so much that I've put two in the new bed! They are about to flower, as well. Pity they're deciduous, but you can't have everything.

Pretty shrub!

I really like it, Pp! Maybe I'll try to get a photo of the whole shrub? Then you'll see why. :-)

I love the leaves on Sorbus. You must think of your Mum each time you look at it :-))

Yes, I do. And I have two of her terracotta pots, so I can keep them looking pretty. She loved flowers and enjoyed her garden when she had one, then her pots after that.

Looks like you can thank your Mum for your love for gardening then Spritz.
As I now live at my late father's home and the place where I grew up, I have reminders of my Dad all over the place :-) and I certainly get my love of gardening from him!

Her father was a real gardener! (or so I've been told!) Pity our two aren't interested. Maybe they will be. one day... I hope.

One day maybe .... my daughter tried to do a bit with me today - but too much like hard work I think. She likes to see the garden looking nice and she said I need to jot down how to grow tomatoes for her but we'll see ....

My daughter sent me an e-mail to ask if Dahlias came again...she has a tiny square at the back of her house, but most of it is grass for my grandson to play on. She does plant up a few pots...I suspect she saw Dahlias at the GC and thought they might be trouble-free!

Bless her, she might get more into gardening when she has more time and is a bit older, like us, lol.

You're right about the time - she is working on her PhD and is really busy writing her thesis, let alone looking after an 8-year old!

The garden has to wait for visits from her mum - or her father-in-law, we both tidy it all up when we go. Can't bear to see it all unkempt.

She's a clever girl :-) she can't do everything can she, the garden will just have to wait, infact, if you were my mum I would be very happy for you to do my garden :-)

We live too far away for that! I told her and her husband that I'd like to do a complete 'make-over' of it - and they both said 'yes, please'!!

I'd really love to - but it would be very hard work physically, as the back wall is covered in ivy - like trees! The roots spread out into the so-called border in front of the wall. I don't think I could deal with that.

I agree ..... I think you have plenty to keep you going at home :-)

You're not wrong! lol.
