Yes now I think it is Filipendula :o)
I've got a white one.
It's also called something else I cant remember. lol
I made wine from the wild ones once - very nice.

Thanks everyone. Each stem is like a little mini tree, Michaela :)
I've never seen any fruits on mine, Hywel, perhaps I cut it down too early. I will leave some stems this year to see what happens. I used to make wine but no room now. I will have to look for a white one as it likes my wet garden so much. I've googled it and its also known as Queen of the Prairies! I think I will stick to Meadowsweet, easier to remember :)

I used the flowers to make the wine.- like elderflower. You need loads and loads of them. lol

That sounds nice.
I made sloe wine once. It was delicious. And the smell of the sloes filled the house. Maybe I'll try it again this year .:o)

It grows to just over 5 foot tall, DD, and grows a little wider each year too but it is easy to control.
