Zebra grass

Zebra grass

This grass is great...it shows up every summer, disappears completely for the winter. You can pull it up easily if it gets too big for it's boots & easily replant where you need some pretty background foliage. It looks lovely with other flowers in a vase & it all came from a little bit given to me by a friend. I've always called it zebra grass but as with many of my plants I'm not entirely sure if I'm right!
The lavatera next to it is an experiment in a pot as the last 2 I've grown in the ground here have died after a year or so for some reason.

Is this grass really not too invasive ?
I bought some at a car boot sale last year, and have kept it in a pot because I was warned it would spread everywhere. Not so ?

It does spread like wildfire but like I said it's really easy to pull out.

Sandra it does go mad but kept in pots it looks great, i've got some in my pond as this sort of grass loves having its feet wet,as the saying goes.

I never thought of putting some in pots...that would look great! I know it spreads like wildfire but I've not had any trouble pulling it up & controlling it.

I'll just have to add this to my "plants-I'd-like-to-try list".
