Nice one Jane :-) How many chicks were there? I love dunnocks but mine seem to have vanished just lately :-((

We have them nesting in the conifer hedge next door.If the fox hasn't got them .He seems to visit every night . I quite often see him sitting staring at the hedge when I wake in the night!

Are the foxes around alot then Paul. I remember when Milky had Freddy visiting, she hasnt mentioned him just lately.
We tend to get them in the winter when they are especially hungry.
Hope your little dunnocks survive!

Aye she takes a mean photo Eileen but dont tell her I said so ..thanks Lancs lass : -) erm truthfully Dawn no idea as you have seen the garden full of fledglings just seem to appear from everywhere .
Our biggest threat Paul is a sparrowhawk another collared dove taken tonight
..the only saving grace is that these doves breed all year round and their numbers increasing despite this .

See a big dog Fox virtually every night ...winter and summer! Wanders in and out of the gardens and up the middle of the road!

Yes many becoming urban perhaps through persecution perhaps through crazy townies keeping chickens in small pens in built up areas.
How can you keep a free range chicken in a small town garden ?
Of course they could be Italian foxes with a penchant for pizzas.

mI don't know Bb, I keep them in my freezer and that's smaller than a garden!
Oh I hadn't thought of that........... I wondered why he was singing 'Just one Cornetto' ..now I know!

Cheeky arent they but I guess they have young to feed too.
