House Front Today

House Front Today

Things are just starting up having only been out for one month. The petunias are doing well, I hope to have them a cascading wave down each side of the steps. Much more fragrance everywhere in the garden from them in this position.

Hi greenthumb, I like seeing plants on steps - it's a lovely effect and the colours go so well with the house as a backdrop.

Is Bainca happy in the sun or does she get under the deck when it is really hot?Got tons of flowers on my black grass this year is yours okay?

Thank you all for the kind comments on my humble little place. :-) I'm pleased my porch boxes are coming on so well and looking good, I was afraid of placing them in that unusual position. The petunias I meant to line the driveway but on the steps is perfect, Their smell spreads everywhere! I usually have a mess of different things on each step, this mass is really working well. I can't wait for the size to double! :-)

Arlene, Bianca loves racing around in the sun, then plop, right into the shade. :-) I'm keeping the grass more trimmed this year and she loves it! My black grass did so well all winter and has struggled so far this summer. All the house plants have hard summers for me. I've still the berries, I should see if I can't get more grass started. I want to say it is doing better, but not so well right now.

I was inspired by Fourseasons steps last year, and TasteyG shot some pics of drifts of petunia in this color scheme at a seed show. I love GOY inspirations! Thanks Gee.

I'm glad that here, even with our 35C days now and then this year, usually summer is very gentle sunlight. These petunias are in sun 7am to 5pm and catch a nice breeze all day. I can almost put shade lover in the sun that long here. I feel I missed a lot being on vacation, I'll have to come peruse your garden Arlene.
