The funicular railway line can be seen just to left of centre. Note the wooden fencing snowbreaks, and the mountain "burn" with young silver birch trees. :-)

It was 31 degreesC in Aviemore those three days. By the end of the week they had blizzards, the ski slopes were open, and giant snowmen dominated pics in the press - we picked the right time to visit. :-)
