I think leucothoe a charming quiet shrub, the little patio was made from the kitchen floor from my husbands daughters old house. It seemed a shame not to use them, but treacherous in winter.

Probably not, they weren't made for outdoor use and they get very mucky. I don't know how long they will last as they've been down about 12 years now but after I've scrubbed them with a deck scrub and water, they don't look too bad.
