This one has been a delight and just getting bigger. The blooms still appear mostly beneath the foliage, but there are more in each flush. I must winter over a cutting. I must have them again.

Thanks all! I worried about them before the ligularia really grew to shade them, they seem very happy, could almost use more direct light.

How hot does it get in Alaska?
19 Jul, 2009
We are about our maximum this year Raquel. In the 90s F. And this is the hot spot, the interior. Along the coasts or on the north slope, you don't get heat like this. We're the cold spot too, so its a trade off. Most of Alaska is betwenn 45-75F all through the summer, day and night. We still get down to 45 at night, even without darkness.

Wow! I figured your 90 degrees wasn't like Houston 90 degrees! I think the highest we've had so far is 103 F plus humidity.
Your summer temps are nice though, except for the 45 at night!

Yep, it still cools off. End of june we'll get a few weeks of 50. :-) Not much humidity so its easy to tolerate.
