lol no I kept them in my out house, use to lock them up at night and let them out in the morning leaving the door open so they could come and go as they pleased they were fan tail doves.

Wow Morgana that must have been great, mine are just the standard collared Doves but I am very fond of them.

Funny you should mention dove cote as a wood yard over the road from me has just opened and its making dove cotes

I love them when we lived at the cottage a neighbour on the lane had one it was fascinating to see the doves who all seem to have their own roost.

lol thats proberbly where the saying comes from home to roost :)

Oh Collared Doves! Lovely, so shy and bonny....we had a pair for years, Darby and Joan....they used to bring their babies to the garden, but I think one of them is now a widow/er, we only had the one over winter.
