The close up is interesting. This plant can be very weedy in California...and it's very difficult to eradicate (because of those damned tubers!). lol! :>)

I think that is it - interesting. Which is fine by me, common or dull is what leaves me cold.
I have two plants here and need to remove one of them.

Good luck removing the tubers!
I'm guessing they go dormant there in winter? Here they're semi-dormant in summer. In fall is when they perk back up and start blooming.

Yes, they're dormant over the winter,
I'll remove them in the winter when it's cold to try to kill them off properly...........
