Adenium obesum 'Ice Pink' - Ice Pink Desert Rose Flowering

Adenium obesum 'Ice Pink' - Ice Pink Desert Rose Flowering (Adenium obesum 'Ice Pink' - Ice Pink Desert Rose)

Another photo of my Ice Pink Desert Rose. It's been blooming like crazy during our severe heat wave. The hotter the better for this plant. Photo taken Oct. 1, 2010.

Amblealice:

Thanks! : > )

Sorry to hear about your Desert Rose! : > (

Adenium species are native to tropical Eastern African deserts. They need high heat in summer and must have dry conditions during winter. It's very tender to cold... especially cold wet soil. I'm lucky all my Adeniums or Desert Roses grow outside all year. My oldest one was purchased six years ago.

Simbad:

Yes, Adenium is in the same family as Mandevilla -- the Apocynaceae family. Some examples of genera in this family are: Plumeria, Mandevilla, Pachypodium, Nerium, and Vinca.

I have 3 varieties of Adenium and they all bloom profusely in summer and fall...and off-and-on light blooms throughout the year.
