I have a tiny root of one of these, just showing a first leaf. I will be delighted if it gets to look like that. It's perfect.

is this like a double wood anemone? i have loved those for a long time!

Yes it is Sticki. Thanks everybody. I have Anemone nemorosa but just a single flower. I don't normally buy double flowers but I had to have this one because its been on my wish list for a long time. I got it from one of the nurseries at the show. Ardfern near Inverness. I wanted to visit it but when we went up to Inverewe it was closed because it was too late in the day and on the way back it was closed because it was too early. It is sterile and so does not have seeds to spread it around. Instead it spreads by running roots out from the main plant. It likes a woodland setting so should be fine where I want it to go.

I have now posted a photo of it in the pot it came in just for you Sticki. As you can see its quite a small pot but it has lots of flowers. I am not sure how fast it will spread.

i bought the single last year and i would say its double the size now with at least 3 flowers on, it had only one last year ~ so lets hope yours is at least as good ~ it has started larger than mine
thank you ~ i will go and look!!

Wow! Thats beautiful - can I ask if it spreads a lot? I've added this to my favourites. Thank you for sharing. x

Most of what I have read suggests it will spread to about 12" or 30cm but I dk how long that will take.
