Thanks Simbad - the cream edges belong to Ajuga Burgundy Glow, if you look carefully you can just see it's blue flower behind the Aruncus.
Goodness me - I've just noticed on the advert on the page for this plant at Crocus - they want £12.99. I bought this last year for around £4!

Oh yes I see it :-) is a small aruncus then!!!! never seen one like it, I have the really tall one given to me by my Dad many years ago, this one's lovely for a smaller garden, I didn't see that either £12.99!!!

Thats a pretty lower growing one Scottish, whats the plant with the cream edges, looks like a bergenia is it?, lovely area :-)
