I started these two papaya plants in mid-June, from seed, they are already almost 6ft (2m) tall. I hope it will bloom this Fall. Photo taken Oct. 15, 2012.

Papaya is technically a herb. It grows tree-like, so many people think it's a tree. It's tropical and has a very tropical look.
I have many papayas plants. The home-grown papayas are so much better than the store bought ones (like with most produce).

Mmmmmm ..... I used to have papaya every morning for breakfast when we lived in West Africa. But it came from the market, so I never saw the tree it grew on. That foliage is very attractive.
