Single Leaf of Forest Pansy Redbud tree

Google it, yes. I love the tree.I have seen it around and finally decided to buy it earlier this year. It blooms early in the year ...before leaves are on and it looks magnificent in the bloom. There are two kinds redbuds. This one is the Forest pansy which I think has more interesting leaves (redish) year round. The other one, called Eastern redbud blooms the same but it's leaves are paler green and in my green on green environment it would look boring.

I know they are doing well here and are sort of "unutilized" in the gardens. I suspect because they are not as showy and elegant as magnolias. We have similar climate as UK.

Lovely pattern and colour is nt nature wonderful.

Love that particular variety. They are available in garden centres here in UK. And it is really interesting how they flower before leaves appear. But as you said - not that showy as other flowering trees:)

You know Kasy, this kind of tree is more suitable for our surroundings here ....but I like the showy trees as well.
