Beautiful! My tropical corner idea has bitten the dust. The sparrows that live in our roof tiles were decimating the T. rex, so I gave up on them and put two fuchsias in instead. No point having tatty shredded leaves in my lovely BBQ corner. Never mind, it would never really have worked here.

It's beautiful! I'm surprised it can grow that large there.

Here in San Diego with lots of water they grow to 30 - 50' (10 -15m) tall.

It's growing in the ground, right?

I'm sure you will get a lot of growth. I know it can grow pretty fast.

Average growth about an inch a year!! this is why they are so expensive to buy.....

WOW!!! That's all the growth in one year?

We can get a foot (31cm) or more of growth a year here, especially if it's watered well. The Australian tree fern (Cyathea cooperi) grows even faster.

Once tree ferns get to around 20 - 25' (6 - 7.6m) tall they slow down, though.
