Fritillaria elwesii - 2014

Fritillaria elwesii - 2014 (Fritillaria elwesii)

Bulb, up to 18 inches high, for well-drained soil that doesn't dry out. The flowers formed about a couple of weeks ago, but have only developed their colouring in the past day or so.

Interesting that the colour develops later .. does that happen with other similar plants ?

TT - one that immediately springs to mind is clematis florida 'Bicolor' where the flowers start off green before turning white.
