Oooh! Ian - they call them all 'Cranesbill' to the right! I shall have to control my blood pressure...and not look...Grrrrrrrrrr!!!

21 Jul, 2009

lol.... well i would say it looks pretty much the same as mine Spritz.... Buxtons it is i would say lol.... i don't know about you, but i have been very disapointed with mine :-( few flowers, straggly looking plant, and the flowers are very rarely as blue as the pictures you see..... what do you think?.... Rozanne much better :D

21 Jul, 2009

YAYYYY!!!!! Hooray!!!!!! And other such shouts of pleasure!

Yes, Rozanne and Jolly Bee, which are pretty similar, win hands down. This is a new one - bought yesterday. I was NOT going to be defeated, now was I? lol.

It's still in its pot, and will be if this rain keeps on! Then I have to get the shoehorn back out to fit it in. Not only that, but there's 'Kashmir Purple' to find a home for, too.

Geraniums? Resist them? Me? Nooooo.....

There's one more left to open - 'Starman'. It has buds on, so it shouldn't be long. Oh, and baby 'Melinda' x 3, but I don't expect flowers until next year on them.

21 Jul, 2009

i got Starman.... bought him a few weeks ago, he is settling in on the edge of my woodland bed/stepping stone path... he has a few buds ready to open looking forward to seeing him...... i don't know 'Melinda' what colour etc.... and Nooooooo i don't have much luck with resistance....... Resistance is futile...sorry to sound like a right trekie lol....

21 Jul, 2009

We are both Geranium trekkies, I think - or maybe 'trackies' would be a better word! LOL.

Come on, Starman - get opening!

Melinda should be pale pink with lots of small flowers. I got three plugs...they were on special offer and arrived in a right old state!

Oh, and Ann Folkard is slow, as well.

sounds nice... i am sure you will be able to revive them Spritz... i got some seeds off the 'Black Beauty' i have today... that look nice and fat :D not sure if they will come true but gonna see what happens... would you like some?

21 Jul, 2009

Have you noticed yet?..........No?............keep looking ............... nothing.........Its got my name on/in Lol

21 Jul, 2009

That would be great, Angie - thanks.

Ian - I'm not with this at all? Please tell me...

21 Jul, 2009

In the name of the plant Barbara, wallichIANum Lol.
Sorry about the delay but my pc caught a cold, or some kind of virus anyway........fixed it though :~))

21 Jul, 2009

no probs... leave it with me ;-)

22 Jul, 2009

That's far too difficult for a mere mortal like me to 'get' Ian...lol.

Thanks, Angie! By the way, how do you know when to harvest the seeds from 'Spish-Splash'? Some of them are brown. Does it matter that they are all wet and soggy...should I dry them out a bit indoors before planting them?

22 Jul, 2009

when the pods are brown..don't leave it too long once they turn, as they will fall out soon after, it is really funny the way they do it, they kind of peel up from the bottom and then they curl upwards and then fall out ... but i have never known them to re-grow from self sowing,, so it is best to give a helping hand.. and no it does'nt matter if wet, let them dry out on a bit of tissue or kitchen roll,...i did some black beauty yesterday in the rain.... then when they are dry pull off the green leafy bit at the bottom, leaving the pointy bit with the little seed pods at the bottom.... sometimes as you do it they curl up and pop out, if not i just squeeze them to get the seeds out....if you do squeeze them point downwards as they can fly out.... and yes i would let them dry a bit... i sowed mine early spring as i remember... or was it autumn? not sure..... i think you can do either.... i would say early spring proberly best.... results were very good i know that much......

22 Jul, 2009

Thanks - I'll get out there and cut some off ...with my umbrella up! LOL. Then I can 'play' with them indoors. I might well plant some later in the year, and save some for the spring as well!

22 Jul, 2009

good idea, Spritz, i think the reason i did not sow them autumn is because of lack of room,,, your greenhouse is larger and i would imagine a lot more effective than mine - well that would'nt be hard lol.... may have to try bubble wrapping this year,,,,, willl be even less room then lol

22 Jul, 2009

I thought I should do that for half of mine, to keep the Coprosmas tucked up safe and sound. :-)

22 Jul, 2009

good idea... i wont be risking that again, under my fleese tents... although there were effetive on some of the less sensertive stuff..

nice one
