Helleborus lividus

Helleborus lividus (Helleborus lividus)

I had one of these in the smallest blue pot last winter. I knew it was a borderline hardy plant, but I hoped...needless to say, it died. I found another one today for the pot.

Thanks - I needed to take out the hardy fuchsia from the pot, so I got this to replace it for a while. :-)

Very pretty. I looked up the meaning of lividus, slate-coloured is one answer, another was envious, which I am! : o )

Thanks. Sandra, so have I....you're certainly not alone there. We have to pick ourselves up and make decisions as to whether we replace like for like, or with something different. :-)

Very nice colour combination, I have white ones but they do seem to have taken a bashing from the frost and snow, still alive but very straggly!

This won't live if we have any hard frosts. :-((

My others have stood up well to the weather!
