Taken at Gee Farms in late October. It looks good in this picture but it really doesn't do the plant justice. This has got to be one of the prettiest hydrangeas. Flower colors change from white to red to sort of a purple. Really amazing when the flowers are red. I could be wrong but I think this is a H. macrophylla x H. serrata?

I've been wondering about that for a while now, thanks! I like it more than H. macrophylla too and am surprised it's not as commonly found any more.

This is cultivar of Hydrangea serrata, although sometimes you can find it as hybrid between the H. macrophylla and H. serrata. I have it i my garden too and I like it more then H. macrophylla, as this hybrid has more advantages - tolerates full sun, some days without watering and keeps perfect shape without pruning. I agree, this is beauty among Hydrangeas.
