Thanks Sticki. Im off for couple hours now taking my sister back to Stroud. Will wave to you when I get there! We planted nearly 40 plants yesterday, and many of the irises have buds..some may come out today. Will be poised with camera.

Thats a beauty Tetrarch, looking forward to all your others opening :-)
I have one I bought 4 years ago 'Loop de Loop' never had a flower, in the sunniest part of the garden and was a huge tuber, has multiplied into five tubers now and at long last it has buds, can't wait.

Simbad, they obviously saved it up for a big show, but once it starts you shouldn't have a problem. If it grows too big, you can always send me a bit, dont have that one lol!
Funny, I sent for some cheapies last year and when the rhizomes came I thought "what a swizz", they were so small. They are still small but more than half have buds. There is no second guessing nature!!
Sticki, you should find a little hot spot even if you have to pot it to follow the sun. Try Immortality...beautiful white one, and if it gets enough sun it will flower twice in one year. And Mum's are immortal aren't they? My mum sits in the garden in her pot, just where she wanted, and I talk to her regularly and my "little" sister (who is a mencap) brings cards and a candle for birthdays and mother's day etc, every time she visits.

Can't believe I have one you don't have Tetrarch,lol, I'll remember you when I split it ;-)
Immortality is a beauty, I have that one.
When my Dad died we buried his ashes in his garden where he wanted to be, but when the house was sold after my Mum died thought we'd better move him, the new owners were going to dig up his garden :-( and thought it'd be a bit of a shock if they came across Dad in his urn, couldn't find him though, the garden was quite boggy and he must have sunk or didn't want to leave !!!!

LOL! Simbad...I can just imagine him digging (!) in his toes and saying "I'll b****y haunt them if they dig up my patch!"
