I already had Itea 'Little Henry', and I planted this shrub, which is very similar, in a different area of the garden. It is deciduous, but hangs on to its beautiful leaves which turn to maroon in autumn, right round until the new leaves start to appear in the spring. It has white flowers in summer.

Ah, but this one is new-ish, Karen. I don't know how the Nursery get them to change colour so early. 'Little Henry' is still green, that I planted last year.

Wow, I don't know how you fit them all in. Great plant.

I removed some Achillea ptarmica, Vincent -it's thuggish and I'd rather have an all-year interest plant, wouldn't you?

yes, funny that isn't it? I expect they keep them in tunnels under false sunlight lighting. I don't have any change at all on my Nandina Domestica either...it's in the greenhouse now, but I thought it would have turned red by now! It certainly gets plenty of sun in there....well...I mean....plenty on the days we get any!!

No, mine hasn't changed colour, either. :-(

Achillea v. Itea, mmmm .... no contest, especially ptarmica, a pest, unless you want it for flower arranging.

Agreed!

It certainly is a pest - I'm gradually getting rid of it. :-))

Strange...mine is still green. I guess mine doesn't get much sun though to turn the leaves red.
