Lavender Stoechas 'Anouk' in metal pot (Lavandula stoechas (French lavender))

French Lavender for my front door. Hopefully the shelter will help it survive there!

I agree Karen...lovely....The French lavenders are less hardy, aren't they?

Yes, they are Moti.

It should be okay if you put a voile around it, in winter, though, Karen. That's what I'm going to have to do with lots of stuff.

I think I shall move it indoors Karen...or maybe just in to the greenhouse. We don't get too cold winters here usually...but wet and windy. Actually pretty much like the summers these days :S

My rather leggy Stoechas survived this last winter outside unprotected, and has bloomed for about 2-3 months now. I daresay in Scotland you would need to shelter it over winter. The bumble bees love to visit those tiny blue flowers under the 'flag'.

I must admit I far prefer them to the english lavender, the scent is nicer too, so hopefully it will do ok.

my 2 are now in pots! Was never happy with them stuck randomly in the ground. Lovely now! Neighbours and husband think I'm insane gardening in the rain but needs must! Thanks for letting me steal your idea!!!!!

Hey, you are very welcome. Not my idea at all...bought it like this! I shall have to replant it soon though as there are no drainage holes in the pot. GC usual rubbish!
