Had this Melianthus quite a few years now, and this is the first time it has flowers, 2 buds so chuffed!!

Well your way ahead of me on this one. My one was about six feet tall at the end of last season, I cut it down almost to ground level it's about 18 inches tall now but looking healthy.

That is so true Meanie........
Philip we had not cut it down for the last two winters, but it was getting too top heavy, so we cut all but two stems, and these are they, the new foliage is about two ft tall now....but that never flowers!!
