I like this Photina....my neighbour grows this....I snipped a few bit off earlier in the year and potted them up - they haven't died yet - so hopefully they are rooting away nicely!

Scottish, I have just snipped a cutting and put it in the greenhouse....we'll see! I am also in love with this plant..it's fantastic, absolutely wonderful colours.

Hope it works Karen. Mine have been in a wee pot since July and they still look ok but haven't put on any new growth so we will see what happens in the spring. If it fails I will buy one next year :))

Yes, they might have gone down a bit in price by next year. Last year about £17, this year £12...next year perhaps under a tenner? ;)

Good luck all of you with your cuttings, OH is not keen on Photinias but he quite liked this one.......I love it.

Very pretty, think I'm in love with it too:-)
Remember seeing yours last year Karen, now where can I squeeze one :-))

Oh, you'd love it Kathy and mine fared better in the cold than Red Robin or Camilvy.

Im with your OH DD...I don't like the others either - which is why I don't have one.
Karen isn't it amazing how quick some of the plant prices come down each year - I remember 14 years ago paying £50 an Acer - yet now I could get 3 of them for that money! Each time my son and his friends were in the garden I used to watch them like a hawk - you would have thought I had just bought the crown jewels :)

Me too Dotty, reminds me .... I need to get some Fish, Blood & Bone :)
23 Oct, 2011
Dawn when we use fish blood and bone the foxes dig it up,do you not have trouble with foxes where you are?
23 Oct, 2011
What a nuisance Dotty. Foxes are around, they leave their deposits but no digging up of plants, so far.
