Plumeria alba - Puerto Rican Plumeria

Looking forward to seeing some pictures later in the year!

It has very fragrant sweet-smelling, beautiful flowers. I gave it high bloom in late summer and fall.

I can get them to grow,its getting them to bloom that's hard. Only Celadine is reliable. Just not much high heat here.
Plumeria alba looks different with the narrow leaves...lacy.

I had many varieties growing outdoors in Fremont. Samoan Fluff was super easy, it’s easier than Celadine.

Plumeria alba is very similar to P. obtusa ‘Singapore’. Last year was the first year it didn’t bloom since it started flowering. The flowers smell just like Singapore plumeria.

I didn't know you grew Plummys here. How did you do it? Did you plant them in a raised bed? Or did you amend the flat soil? They rot when I plant them in straight clay soils. I once had Aztec gold cutting that died in a pot outdoors. Aa rainy winter did it in,Celadine survived like it always does.
I wouldn't mind another chance at Aztec gold or the Penang Peach said to be a strong grower and flowerer.

Oh yeah. Plumeria trees are easy if they are put up against a west or south wall, in very good-draining soil in the SF Bay Area. The cold doesn’t bother them, it’s the wet cold that usually rots them. One year I had Celandine blooming in December and early January in Fremont. It was an exceptional year!

All those varieties plus the rainbow varieties seem to do best up there.
