The yellow one flowers later than the white.

Not really, Mookins - they're very easy plants (shrubs). I just trim off any dead bits in the spring when the leaves start to grow.
I do hope yours revives! What else have you rescued?

ooh I bought a climbing Hydrangea, Kerria Japonica, Cornus Kesseringii and Deutizia x Hybrida
all the labels have faded on parts of the instructions so have posted some questions about them.
They currently all sat in water very dried out bless em
