Thalictrum (Thalictrum aquilegiifolium)

Here is my Thalictrum. It has just finished flowering. Does anyone know if it produces viable seed?

These should be fine, I grown them from my seed. Thalictrum delavayi 'Hewitt's Double' , is the only thalictum that I can think of that is sterile. There may be others.

Lovely Sid, is this aquilegifolium? I have thalictrum delavayii not hewitts double, which I've grown from my own collected seed several times, one of my favourite plants :-)

Yes, I think it is aquilegifolium. When I bought it and showed my mum she said, 'What did you buy that for - we've got loads of those!' - she thought it was an Aquilegia ;-)

It's a facinating flower and quite long-lasting if I remember rightly. I'm sure you will enjoy growing this one! :-)

Had a look at your picture - delavayii is very pretty - I have seen it in gardens. Such dainty little flowers! I'm taking a bit of a risk with Thalictrums in my garden as in a 'normal' year it's quite dry, but this is Soooo pretty.......i'd love to give it a chance - yes please! :-)
