Daphne odora aureomarginata

My Daphne odora aureomarginata despite being planted in a sheltered spot next to a heated greenhouse lost nearly all its leaves in the winter.
But it is still flowering well and fills the garden with scent.
Hopefully it will leaf up well again in the spring.

Good to here about your brothers, I lost a D.jacqueline postil in December and when the leaves all fell off i was a bit worried but the leaf buds look ok :-)

It's a defence mechanism when evergreens lose their leaves. They keep losing moistue through the foliage and if the ground is frozen, they can't replace it. So they drop their leaves and grow new ones when conditions improve

I love Daphne Odora. The scent is glorious. I have one but it is not very big yet. It has flowers though.
Interesting comment Andrew.

It's very pretty. I hope it recovers. Anyway it doesn't look dead with all those flowers on it.

I looks as if you are going to be lucky this time, it would be such a shame to lose such a wonderful plant.
