Continued adventures of Pollyanna

I bought myself 2 inspirational things last month to kind of comemorate my new life.

The necklace says "Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.

The ring has a twist and says “The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step”

It is a strange feeling to be moving into this new chapter of my life. At the age of 69 I feel like a child just growing up. Are we not really all children anyway just in older bodies?! lol.

A comment I recieved from one of you a quote from Tennison, Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. While speaking to Bruce about some of my fears one of them being how do you start again at this age, what time do we have left.. and he said to me isn’t it better to have a least 5 yrs. together than nothing?…..

Hi, I started a "new life" last December. I have always worked since I was fifteen. (Shopkeeper - Hardware, Gardening, D.I.Y.etc.).
I retired from work, it took a few months before I sorted myself out to not working and finding other things to fill my life with. I too felt I had been given a new start, I turned 70 this year which felt like a disaster, I turned "old" over night. I have joined lots of new Groups (Reading and Writers), got involved with them. It was the writing teacher who said we should have a look at a few blogs, I found I had joined GoY without realising it, but people were so welcoming that i've stuck around.

Your jewellery is lovely, I love that "journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step" it is so true. The thought about "creating yourself" too is so powerful. The one I always keep in mind is "If it is to be, it is Up To Me!"
that gives you a clue I am an independant female.
Love, Marge.

Always nice to hear from you Pollyanna as you sound so excited and full of optimism for the future.

The jewellery is lovely and inscriptions clearly mean a great deal to you. Best wishes to both you and Bruce.

Although I am fairly new to this site, but being in the same age bracket, I understand what you must be going through.... I certainly agree about being children etc, I do not feel old, sometimes I feel I ought to be more "Grownup" anyway. I wish you all the best, I am sure you will have no regrets.

I don't think you're too old - you're never too old to start again and to find love, thank goodness...gives those of us who've never found the right one hope that eventually we will! Congrats to you and Bruce.

We are never 'grown up' inside, are we? Your Bruce is spot on - so take your happiness and spread it round, as you have been. It's infectious.
