I have a New Zealand flax quite small - do I dead head the seed pods?

They look like little bunches of grapes at the end of the stem, the flowers were lovely all spring but now these stems are weighed down by the seeds and I'm not sure whether to cut them off.

They're doing what nature intended - but if you don't like them as they are - remove them.

Remove the whole spent flower stem as close to the base as possible Queenie - they're serving no useful purpose at all.

know need to as its a very hardy shrub grown for its leaf rather than its flowers.they used to use the leaves for bow strings sewing etc.
