Depends where the plants came from and how old they are, and the variety. Strawberries normally need a good period of growth to form flower/fruit buds. The ones for next year will be formed in the crowns of the ones growing now. When you buy plants these have usually been grown on in a way that ensures the flower buds are produced immediately. Otherwise, just grow them on and pot on some of the runners to have even more for next year. You should have fruit next year if they are a normal variety.
