what do you do with strawberry plants in the winter?

Answers

My job for the weekend is to loosen the soil around them gently and add a little compost, then just pack straw around them to protect the main parts from the cold and wind.

Strawberry plants do not need feeding at this time of year... in fact they never need feeding as you only use the plant for 2 or 3 years and replace with runners... We've got the reverse challenge the alpine strawberries galumph everywhere!
